When is the best time to visit Wayanad?
October to May is ideal. November–February is the coolest and clearest. The forest is lush and dramatic after the monsoon (September–October). Avoid peak monsoon (June–August) for trekking.
How far is Wayanad from Calicut Airport?
Wayanad is approximately 95 km from Calicut (Kozhikode) International Airport — about 2.5 hours through the scenic Thamarassery Ghat road. Cochin Airport is around 290 km (5–6 hours).
Is Wayanad suitable for families with children?
Yes — Wayanad is excellent for families. Wildlife safaris, waterfall treks, and plantation tours are all child-friendly. We tailor the pace and activities to suit your family's needs.
What wildlife can I expect to see?
Wild elephants are commonly sighted, especially at dawn and dusk. Gaur (Indian bison), sambar deer, langur monkeys, and a wide variety of birds are regularly seen. Leopard sightings are rare but possible.
